What your result means

Yearly total is the headline: every recurring charge normalized to one comparable year. Monthly total is the same money in budgeting units.

Daily average makes small charges visceral — $10 a month is 33 cents a day, every day, whether you open the app or not.

How the calculation works

  1. Convert each subscription to its monthly equivalent by billing period.
  2. Add the rows plus other yearly fees divided by twelve for the monthly total.
  3. Multiply by twelve for the year; divide by 30.44 for the daily average.

Formula

Formula

monthly = Σ(amount ÷ period) + yearly ÷ 12; annual = monthly × 12

  1. Normalizeweekly ÷ 4.33 · monthly as-is · yearly ÷ 12
  2. Monthly totalsum of normalized rows + other yearly ÷ 12
  3. Annual totalmonthly × 12

Assumptions

What this calculation takes for granted — check these before relying on the result.

Assumptions:

  • Default rows are an example stack — replace with your subscriptions.
  • Weekly prices use 52 ÷ 12 months; one-time purchases spread over 12 months.
  • Prices are current list prices; trials, promos, and hikes are not modelled.

Limitations

Why your real figure may differ:

  • Price rises, plan changes, and forgotten free trials all move the real total.
  • Shared or family plans split informally are counted at the entered price.
  • Taxes on digital services vary and are excluded.

Frequently asked questions

How do weekly subscriptions convert to monthly?

Multiply by 52 weeks and divide by 12 months (≈4.33×). A $20 weekly box costs about $86.67 a month — the conversion surprises most people.

Should one-time purchases count?

Spread over 12 months here, so they join the comparison fairly. A $120 lifetime app counts as $10 a month in year one.

What is subscription creep?

Small recurring charges added one by one until the total dwarfs any single one. Listing everything in one place — which is what this page does — is the standard fix.

Monthly or yearly billing — which is cheaper?

Yearly usually discounts ~15–20%, but only if you will still want it in month 12. Enter both versions as rows to compare honestly.
